What are the chances of being approved for a loan with bad credit?
If you have a history of bad credit, you may struggle to borrow money when you need to. Some lenders, including several on the CashLady panel, specialise in loans for people with bad credit.
You’re welcome to search for a loan with CashLady, whatever your credit score. We’ll do our best to find a suitable loan for you, based on your financial circumstances.
A bad credit loan could come with a higher rate of interest, so this is something to bear in mind when working out whether the monthly repayments would be affordable to you.
Who was Swift Sterling?
Swift Sterling was a trading name of MMP Financial Limited, which began lending in December 2015.
Swift Sterling offered short-term loans between £200 and £1,000, and customers could choose to repay their loan across a repayment term of 1 to 5 months.
Is Swift Sterling still trading?
MMP Financial Limited, trading as Swift Sterling and My Money Partner, ceased trading on December 9, 2019, after being placed into administration.
Customers who had active loans in place at the time were advised by the FCA to continue making their repayments in line with their credit agreement. Swift Sterling was not permitted to consider or accept new applications for credit after the administration announcement was made.
At the time of administration, current and former Swift Sterling customers were given the opportunity to make a claim against the company if they believed they’d been mis-sold an unaffordable loan. The claims portal was set up and managed by the Joint Administrators Chris Laverty, Travor Patrick O’Sullivan, and Helen Dale of Grant Thornton.
Can I still apply for a loan with Swift Sterling?
No. Swift Sterling entered into administration in December 2019 and it is no longer possible to get a loan with them.
Whether you’re a previous Swift Sterling customer or are searching for loans like Swift Sterling, CashLady could help you look for an alternative.

Could I search for a payday loan with CashLady?
CashLady does not work with any lenders of payday loans. Instead, our partners offer short-term loans which, depending on the amount of money you apply to borrow, you could repay across a term between 3 to 60 months.
With a payday loan, you’ll typically need to repay the full amount plus interest within a month. A short-term loan, such as those offered by the lenders on the CashLady panel, makes it possible to spread the cost of borrowing.
What happens if I’ve taken out a loan but can no longer afford to make my repayments?
In this situation, it’s important to speak to your lender as soon as you can. Don’t wait until you’ve missed a repayment; reach out as soon as you feel as though you’re struggling. Once your lender is aware of your situation, they will work with you to look into possible solutions to help ease the pressure.

*If CashLady is able to match you with a loan and you choose to make a full application, the lender will complete a creditworthiness assessment, which will involve a hard search or Open Banking. A hard search will be visible on your credit file for up to 12 months, and undergoing multiple hard searches in a short period of time will damage your credit score.
**Payout timescales vary between lenders. The time it takes for the money to appear in your account will depend on your bank’s policies and procedures.
